Mr. Trump! We Don’t Talk Like That in America

I often write about  great thinkers and visionaries. Most of these are from the past but I read a superb article this morning by the award winning journalist Zaheed Zakaria about American values and the threat of Donald Trump’s ideas to these values.

I was at a conference with my stress management team including a group of chair massage therapists from

A few of the attendees were secular Muslim friends of mine who were pretty freaked out by the thing Trump has been saying and they shared the article with me. I read it and I knew immediately that I had to share the article with my readers.

I have worked directly with Donald Trump. I traveled to over twenty cities including L.A.,  Dallas, San Francisco and others as part of the Learning Annex Real Estate Expo’s that he was part of and ran the “VIP” area for those events for over three years.

Trump always seemed like a sensible guy even if arrogant and self involved. It went with the territory. “Show Biz” as they say.

Now it seems he has crossed the line into mean spiritedness, and bigotry.

He is using imagery and a type of speech and behavior that is so much against our inclusive culture that many influential conservative Christian evangelists find it offensive.

We have something special in America. In spite of the complexity of politics, the disagreements about government, political parties, guns, abortion rights, and more,  one thing that is not acceptable is bigotry based on a person’s religious affiliation

“An “Evil” pebble thrown into the pond ripples beyond the intentions of the person who threw it”.
